Local Resources and Services
The Olympic Housing Network in cooperation with the local resources in Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, and Mason counties in partnership with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission co-sponsor the Finance Commission's certified 5 hr. home buyer education classes locally in each county.
The classes are provided free and all class hand-outs are free. The instructors are certified by the Finance Commission and include a lender and realtor. The certified instructors are supplemented with other guest speakers from the local resources.
The classes are offered as a Community Service and the instructors are volunteers. The classes are conducted in an unbiased manner giving a general overview of the complete home buying process which includes: first time home buyer lending programs including a program for

- Down Payment Assistance Program
- Budgeting Classes
- Mutual Self Help Construction "sweat-equity" homeownership
- USDA Rural Development low income lending programs
- Habitat for Humanity
