Kerry Ogden was an extraordinary individual who was a dedicated volunteer tutor and summer staff employee with the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority. Her dream was to become a teacher and was working towards her Master's in Teaching. She died tragically in an automobile accident in 1999. She will be remembered for her endless devotion she gave to low-income children. She surmounted language and cultural barriers to help these children feel part of the community and achieve academically. To honor her memory and commitment to education, the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority established a memorial scholarship fund in her name so that disadvantaged youth have an opportunity to continue on to higher education
