In the following pages, you'll read about how the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority has helped build stronger communities for over two decades.
You'll read about our work to build affordable housing for families, the disabled, and seniors in our community. You'll learn about programs that help high-risk youth learn life skills and get the support they need to achieve. How we help individuals and families out of poverty and into their own homes. And how we've helped cities and towns rebuild and revitalize their communities.
But just as important as the homes we build are the jobs and economic development we bring to our community. In 2001, we pumped almost $8 million into our local economy - by hiring building contractors and architects and by purchasing building materials and property.
These dollars come from private investors, as well as state and federal grants - not from local taxes.
Just as important are the many partnerships we have forged in our community - with the Bremerton Housing Authority, Kitsap Mental Health, the Kitsap County Health District, our local school districts, Kitsap Community Resources, the city of Bremerton, and many, many more.
Together, we've accomplished a lot in the last 20 years. And we've got a lot more to do. We look forward to continuing to work with you in the coming decades as we build stronger communities.
